Access to the museum and Additional advice

Visitors suffering of cardiovascular and motor diseases are strongly advised not to visit the museum. Fondazione Venezia – Servizi alla Persona is not liable for any responsibility.


Visitors with disabilities willing to visit the Scala Contarini have to contact the booking office in advance as there is no lift available on site.

In the interest of the museum areas and visitors, you must not:

  • Smoke
  • Drink or eat
  • Take large animals
  • Take large bags or backpacks
  • Touch the exhibition artworks
  • Allow unattended children to enter the Belvedere of the Scala Contarini del Bovolo
  • Run within the museum premises and be harmful for other visitors and/or for the museum collections
  • Trespass museum barriers and premises
Photos and Videos
Photos without flash are allowed for personal purposes. Any other use of photographs or videos must be allowed by the museum. Do not use any photographs or videos for commercial purposes, unless arranged otherwise directly with the Foundation. Any arrangement shall be stated by written correspondence.

Visitors may be subject to photographs, audio or videos in the interest of museum documentation or publishing.

There is no public lightning in the museum external areas at night. Fondazione Venezia Servizi alla Persona declines any responsibility for damage to people and/or things caused accidentally by visitors. Visitors must take responsibility for any damage to structures and/or artworks.
Visitors shall forward any queries or complaints regarding the exhibition or visitor services by e-mail – or by letter- Fondazione Venezia Servizi alla Persona, Via Rampa Cavalcavia, n. 9, 30172 – Venezia Mestre. The Foundation will answer within 30 days from the date of receipt.
Museum Vistors Regulations & Information, Ticket Purchase Terms and Conditions
Please read the following regulations to access the museum sites managed by Fondazione Venezia Servizi alla Persona (hereinafter referred to as: the Foundation), be aware of the General Conditions of the website and of the ticket purchase terms and conditions.

Please be reminded that by entering the museum websites, visiting the pages and/or using the available materials and services, you are deemed to agree to accept the general Terms and Condition and you are legally bound to them in accordance with the applicable law.

General Conditions of on-line purchase
The website, its contents and services shall be used in compliance with the law and order, morality and the above-mentioned Terms and Conditions. Visitors shall agree to use the services and contents of the website and to abide not to use them for illegal or criminal aims, in respect to third party rights, intellectual property regulations or other applicable laws.

The ticket is valid only when purchased through the official website The Foundation is responsible for ticket fares purchased via the official website only; tickets for both the Scala Contarini del Bovolo and for the Oratorio dei Crociferi are available on the website for visitors of the age of 18 or over.

In order to purchase on-line tickets, you shall provide name and surname, a valid credit card and a valid e-mail address. Once the on-line booking is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with the order number. E-tickets can be presented at the museum box-office or printed at the museum kiosk.

E-tickets can be purchased only by providing valid credit /debit cards (Visa, Master Card, Paypal). Any ticket has to be considered valid only if followed by a confirmation number.

Once purchased, you are allowed in the museum at the time and date stated on the ticket.

Please check your ticket carefully as tickets are non- refundable.

Late arrivals will prevent you from entering the museum or have a refund.
Access the museum- Terms and Conditions
Tickets are considered valid only when purchased on the official website, at the museum box office or via authorised retailers.

Ticket holders will be requested to show proof of identity against the name provided during the ticket purchase. Anyone showing non-valid tickets (e.g tickets have been lost or stolen, duplicated or acquired in contrast to the general conditions of purchase) will not be admitted to the museum and may be asked to leave the premises by authorised members of staff.

Tickets are personal and cannot be released at valuable consideration or handed over to third parties.

Tickets are only valid for the entrance to the selected museum and cannot be re-used. Visitors willing to come back must purchase another ticket.

A maximum of 35 visitors at once are admitted to the Scala Contarini del Bovolo and the Sala del Tintoretto. The visit will last 30 minutes.

You must retain your ticket safely throughout the visit for production on demand by one of our member of staff inside the museum premises.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitor Services
Museum attendants are available for any enquiry related to museum general tours and collections. Additional information on events managed by the Foundation can be provided. Members of staff are responsible for the museum collection and visitors: when visiting the museum you are required to follow all regulations and policy carefully.
Complementary Tickets
Access to the museum is free for:

  • Children up to 12 years-old
  • Residents in Venice municipality- with a valid I.D. Card.
  • Employees of IRE and Fondazione Venezia Servizi alla Persona
  • Licensed tour guides

Free tickets cannot be booked.

Tickets policy (amendments and cancellations)
Visitors can amend the day and time of their reservation up to midnight (GMT+1) of the day prior to their visit only by phoning the booking office.
Guaranteed visits
The Foundation reserves the right to revoke and amend the day and the time of the booking for major and/or security issues. Should cancellation be necessary, the Museum will attempt to contact all customers who have booked tickets in advance via e-mail. The Foundation will take care of any refund or amendment in case of inability to guarantee the visit.
Data protection policy
The Foundation guarantees data protection and manages personal data at high standards of security according to the principles of the Italian law – Decreto Legislativo 196/03 .

The Foundation is committed to respecting individual rights, freedom and dignity, in regard to visitors’ privacy and personal identity. Personal data will be used for ticket purchase only, in accordance with customers privacy and rights. No information will be shared to any third party. Credit card transactions are directly managed by Banco Popolare Soc. Coop. Privacy and security criteria are guaranteed.
