Commissioned by Juraté Tutlyte and curated by architect Gintaras Balčytis, the exhibition invites architects, students, communities, and visitors to reflect on the deep connections between architecture and the urban environment.
It positions the discipline as an interpretative tool that reveals the layered relationships shaping our cities—relationships that, in turn, reflect these dynamic interactions.
The proposal evokes an urban memory rooted in landscapes once filled with fields and trees, introducing the dimension of time into discussions about urban ecosystems, sustainability, and resilience.
The vision of this exhibition is based on the observation that, within a geologically brief span of time, built neighborhoods can be radically transformed in an effort to compensate for the fact that their development often came at the expense of centuries-old trees that had stood for generations.
The removal of these trees erased not only natural elements but also historical and collective memory, weakening the very identity of the place.
